Urban Forest Care

Protecting and enhancing Santa Barbara’s urban forest

Santa Barbara is home to over 450 tree species, making it one of the most diverse urban forests in California. Beyond beauty, trees offer environmental and public health benefits, such as reducing heat, capturing stormwater, and providing wildlife habitat.

Planting new trees is only the first step in enhancing our urban forest. The PARC Foundation supports the City of Santa Barbara’s Urban Forestry Program to provide the ongoing and specialized care needed to maintain new and existing city trees.
