As the days grow shorter and the year draws to a close, I find myself feeling deep gratitude not just for the beauty that surrounds us but for the vibrant community that makes Santa Barbara so special. At the PARC Foundation, supporting the programs and initiatives that strengthen and uplift this community is the heart of all we do.

I am thrilled to share just a glimpse at the incredible impact we’ve made this year, thanks to generous supporters like you.

Returning A Landmark To The Community

Construction is officially underway to restore the historic Plaza del Mar Band Shell, thanks to $55,000 in donations from PARC supporters. Upon completion, this venue will serve as a gathering place for all to enjoy music, theater, dance, and community celebrations. A donation today can support free programming at the newly renovated venue.

Building Strong Foundations

 A donation to PARC funds critical youth programming that sets children and teens on the path to a brighter future.

This year, local youth painted and repaired 20 murals across Santa Barbara as part of the Arts Alliance, an art-based mentoring program that fosters connection and emphasizes community service.

Through the Chef Apprentice program, more than 300 teens have explored the culinary arts while developing critical life skills.

This summer, over 600 children attended free or low-cost swim lessons, ensuring they can safely enjoy all the beauty our seaside community has to offer.

Fostering Inclusion and Connection

PARC is dedicated to fostering a truly inclusive community. Our support of the Adapted Recreation program works to break down barriers by providing people with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy leisure activities in a safe and supportive environment. Your donation helps fund regular social events, including a monthly bowling league, holiday dances, and a Thanksgiving luncheon.

Sharing The Gift of Music

This year, PARC continued our tradition of providing free live music for the community. Thousands of people joined us at Chase Palm Park to sing and dance during our free summer concert series, Concerts in the Park.

We also hosted a full day of family-friendly entertainment at the West Beach Bandstand during the annual Fourth of July Celebration.

Providing Summer Fun for All

PARC is committed to ensuring high-quality summer camp experiences are available to all families, not just those who can afford them. This year, 129 scholarships covered more than $45,000 in summer camp costs for local families.

PARC supporters also helped fund 8 weeks of free childcare for more than 250 participants through the Parks and Recreation Department’s annual Summer Fun program.
